How to use a weighted average

A weighted Grade Point Average is a way of calculating grades in which selected activities carry more weight than others. You can use it to ensure a specific activity has a greater impact on the students’ final grade than the other activities.

How to assign a higher weight to an activity

Step 1

In the selected class view, find the activity you want to assign a new weight to.

Step 2

Click the three dots next to the activity name and select Edit weight.

Step 3

Set the value you see fit — for example, 3 — and confirm the change.

How adding a higher weight affects the average grade

In the above example, the result of that activity is multiplied by 3 when the average is calculated.
You don’t need to calculate anything yourself. The app automatically recalculates the results and immediately shows how they affect students’ average grades.
