How to organise retakes for students

In the Classwise app, you can easily repeat the same testing activity. This feature is useful when not all students were able to participate in the previous lesson, or when you want to allow selected students to retake the activity.

Retake (resit) procedure

Step 1
To begin, go to the Students section and select your class.
Then find the activity you want to repeat with your students.

Step 2

Hover over the three dots, and from the available options, select Test again.

Step 3

Then choose Resit to repeat the same activity.

Note that you cannot edit the activity settings. You also use exactly the same questions and answer choices.

Analysing results

Once the resit is complete, additional icons will appear next to the students’ results. Hover over them to see the number of attempts and the student’s results.

You can decide which result counts as the final result.

To indicate it, do this:

1. Click the settings cog icon on the right side of the screen and change how resit/retake results should be treated.

2. You can choose from:

Best score from all tries
Last try score
Average from all tries

Running the same test again allows absent students to:

Catch up and helps you check how much your students have retained from previous lessons
Give students another chance
Reinforce learning and keep a better track of student progress
