How to add interactions to a presentation

Adding interactions will make your presentations even more engaging and help you get students actively involved. In this example, we're using a slide we created in the post: How to create an interactive slide in a presentation.

Step 1 – Adding an interaction

You can add an interaction in two ways:

  • by clicking the yellow icon in the sidebar
  • by selecting the Interactions button above the slide

Step 2 – Setting a trigger

Click Add a trigger and choose what will trigger the interaction.

The trigger can be a click on a specific area of the slide or a set time after which the action should occur.

In this example, we’ll use a click.

Step 3 – Adding an action

Choose what should happen when the condition is met. Click Add an action.

There are several action types to choose from:

  1. Change/edit content on the slide
  2. Change page – Go to another slide
  3. Wait – trigger the next action after a set time
  4. Pick a student – indicate a random pupil in your class by vibrating a random Classpad

In this example, we’ll use change content on the slide.

You can add multiple actions to a single condition. We’ll replace both the image and the text.

You can search for a new image in the library or upload one from your device.

Type the new text in the designated text field.

Step 4 – Checking if it works

Once you’ve added all the actions, you can see the result. Click the Run button on the top bar.

Interactive elements on the slide are marked with the hand icon.

This is just one example of an interaction. We encourage you to try and mix different conditions and actions to create your own original lesson scenarios.
