Connecting devices for the first time

Step 1

Unpack the Docking Station. The box containing the Docking Station also holds the Control Hub and the charger. Then unpack the Classpads and insert them into the Docking Station. The Docking Station can now be connected to the charger.

The next step is to pair the Control Hub with Classpads for the first time. Open the Classwise app: app.classwise.com, log in and select „Device panel” in the top bar.

Connect the Control Hub to the computer using the provided cable, and then click the „Allow” button.

At this point, your browser may ask you to allow a serial port connection – select „USB Serial” and click „Connect”.

Now it is time to assign the Classpads to the Control Hub you just plugged in. From the available options, select „Pair automatically using the docking station”.

Insert all Classpads into the numbered slots. Once done, click the blue „Inserted” button.

Step 6

Hold down the button on the base of the docking station for three seconds. At this point, the Classpads start flashing rapidly and synchronise with the system. On the screen, you will see the number of paired Classpads. Wait until all Classpads are paired and click „Finish”.

Step 7

Classpads have been successfully connected to the Control Hub, when you take them out of the Docking Station, they will light up.

Step 8

If you select a class at the top of the screen, Classpads will be assigned to students.

Important: You don’t have to insert the Classpads back in the same slots, their numbers will be automatically assigned to new slots when you insert all the Classpads back to the station.

Note: Even if you don’t intend to use all Classpads, it’s a good idea to pair them with the Control Hub, that way all Classpads will be ready to use at any time. If not all of your Classpads have been paired successfully, click „Classpads management” > „Pair again using the docking station” and repeat the whole process. If several Classpads did not paired successfully, it is possible to pair them manually. To do this, click the plus next to the Classpad number, then follow the instructions on the screen.
